  11. $6ec"My  son  is  under  the doctor's care and should not take P.E.  today,"
  12. wrote a parent.  "Please execute him."
  13.  
  14. "Please  excuse  Mary for being absent," wrote another parent.  "She was
  15. sick and I had her shot."
  16.  
  17. These  drastic  measures  were  inadvertently  taken in notes written by
  18. parents to excuse their children's absences from school.
  19.  
  20. In  all  fairness  to  pupils throughout the land, I must point out that
  21. slaughtering  the  English  language  is  a practice that is not limited
  22. openly to students.  An astonishing number of grownups blithely go about
  23. murdering   the  King's  English  without  any  inkling  that  they  are
  24. committing a serious crime.
  25.  
  26. If  you  think  that  today's  students aren't learning all they should,
  27. check  out  some  of the writing miscreated by their moms and dads.  the
  28. following are actual excuse notes received by teachers.

  30.    Dear School:
  31.      Please eckuse John being absent on Jan. 28, 29, 30, 31, 32,
  32.      and also 33.

  34.      Please excuse Gloria from Jim today.  She is administrating.
  35.  
  36.      Pleazse  excuse Roland from P.E.  for a few day.  Yesterday he fell
  37.      out of a tree and misplaced his hip.

  39.      John has been absent because he had two teeth taken off his face.
  40.  
  41.      Carlos  was  absent  yesterday because he was playing football.  He
  42.      was hurt in the growing part.

  44.      Mary could not come to school because she has been bothered by very
  45.      close veins.

  47.      Chris will not be in school cus he has an acre in his side.

  49.      Please excuse Ray Friday from school.  He has very loose vowels.

  51.      Please excuse pedro from being absent yesterday.  He had (several
  52.      mispellings of diarrhea crossed out) the shits.

  54.      Please  excuse Tom for being absent yesterday.  He had diarrhea and
  55.      his boots leak.

  57.      Irving was absent this morning because he missed his bust.

  59.      Please excuse Jimmy for being.  It was his father's fault.

  61.      I kept Billie home because she had to go Christmas shopping because
  62.      I don't know what size she wear.

  64.      Please excuse Harriet for missing school yesterday.  We forget to
  65.      get the Sunday paper off the porch. and when we found it Monday,
  66.      we thought it was Sunday.

  68.      Please  excuse  my  son's tardiness.  I forgot to wake him up and I
  69.      did not find him till I started making the beds.

  71.      Sally won't be in school a week from Friday.  We have to attend a
  72.      funeral.

  75.      the weekend with the Marine's.

  78.      with gramps.

  82.      Please excuse Burma, she had been sick and under the doctor.

  84.      Maryann  was  absent  December 11-16, because she had a fever, sore
  85.      throat,  headache,  and  upset  stomach.  Her sister was also sick,
  86.      fever  and sore throat, her brother had a low grade fever and ached
  87.      all over.  I wasn't the berst either, sore throat and fever.  There
  88.      must  be  the flu going around school, her father even got hot last
  89.      night.
